background
Over the past few years we've become very aware of the amount of talented communications/design graduates who were desperate for some agency work experience that would ultimately help them get a job. A lot of these guys ended up doing other jobs or signing on because they couldn’t get a ‘break’.
While at the same time we noticed the absence of quality marketing materials for smaller social enterprises and charities. Usually due to lack of budget.
So we got to thinking, what if we brought the two together? Both could benefit from each other.
That’s how The Good Academy came about.
How The Academy works
The Good Academy takes up a space in Do Good Advertising's studio in The White Studios, Glasgow. Here computers, software and equipment are provided for use by the students of the Academy.
Richard and Stephen are on-site to provide help and advice along with a network of industry mentors.
Students are assigned a client brief and with the Academy's help, run the project, meeting clients, presenting work, answering the phone and of course, making the tea.
